Is there a way to update the library?

    Dave C · August 6, 2017 at 3:33 PM

Has anyone gotten past 90% when updating? Wondering if there is a fix or a solution for this. Thanks 🙂 Everything else worked great when installing using these instructions.

Shem Dmytryshyn · July 12, 2017 at 10:23 PM

Also looking for a way to update … stops at 90% like some others, everything else seems to work though thanks!

Vicki · July 15, 2017 at 10:02 PM

Having a hard time with this, for some reason.

Are there basic steps for install without the information for multiple languages and more screen shots?

I’m new to Mac and I’m trying to download to a MacBook Pro.

Adam Meyer · July 21, 2017 at 6:50 AM

Unfortunately this doesn’t work for me either – once I hit Step 9 (Double-click the Setup.exe (or WTLSetup.exe) file.), it shows that it’s verifying the installer, and then nothing further happens.

Running a Macbook Pro with Sierra 10.12.6

Any help you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks!

Having installed everything ok, I’ve now joined the group of friends who it appears to have stuck at 90% during the update. could anyone suggest a way round this or at least confirm that it is being looked into please?

Dan Winters · August 1, 2017 at 8:35 AM

Same issue updates stick at 90% any fixes guys?

Donna · August 15, 2017 at 3:35 PM

I see others are asking but no replies show up.
Is there a way to update the Watchtower library on Mac? Mine stops at 90% as well.

Jeff Murray · August 17, 2017 at 1:57 PM

I must be missing something but can’t find it. I was able to succesfully install everything to the last step, however, when I try to open the app, I get the selection for opening english, but then it just opens wine with a generic icon on the dock and the WT Library splash screen never appears.

    Johan · October 11, 2017 at 3:54 PM

Hello. I have the same problem. I can start it manually though by going to the install folder and running wtlibrary.exe.

Hope there would be an explanation for this.

    Daniel Misico · October 14, 2017 at 7:06 PM

I also had this issue. Did you ever find a solution? I am going to reinstall and see if that helps.

    Daniel Misico · October 16, 2017 at 5:05 PM

I am having the same issue, has anyone found a solution? I have tried quite a few things, but haven’t been able to resolve this. I will post here if I find a solution.

    Alex · November 17, 2017 at 12:06 AM

I have the same issue – black box with “exec” written in it and when I right click on it it says program error… any help on this issue??

      Alex · November 17, 2017 at 5:56 AM

I got it working using Winebottler rather than using this method. Doesn’t have the multiple language option but I didn’t need that. Bit of trial and error but got there in the end

Daniel · August 17, 2017 at 9:01 PM

Same Issue here. Unable to go past 90% when applying update.

Al · August 19, 2017 at 1:09 PM

I seem to be missing the step between Installing the program to C:Progaram Files and Downloading the file. I did fine through Step 10 (install the program) and am only doing one language, so Step 11 does not apply. I get to Step 12, download the file, and am drawing a blank. Any suggestions?

    Barbara · October 18, 2017 at 5:26 PM

Same for me… have you had any help on this?

    Alex · November 17, 2017 at 12:05 AM

    Click on “this file”

Diego · September 6, 2017 at 3:29 PM

Stuck at 90% here 🙁

Mark Chambers · September 20, 2017 at 6:41 AM

I followed the instructions exactly but can’t get WtLib to load. I get as far as the language choice, then a wine exec icon appears on my dock saying “Program Error”, but I don’t see an error window. Any help?

Jay Delgado · September 27, 2017 at 2:02 AM

Will this work on the new High Sierra 10.13?

Salvador Garcia · October 3, 2017 at 7:40 AM

Hi everybody.
I´m not a IT-Genious so I follow step by step all the instructions mentioned by Chris and by every time I saw the same screen like his instructions-pictures, I was so happy.
But at the end, when I try to open my precious WT-Librery 2016, there is only a little icon at the bottom side and when I click over it, the message i get is: “Error del programa” >> “Error at program”
Can someone help me, please?
Sunny regards from Barcelona, Spain.

Jesse Slone · October 11, 2017 at 10:43 AM

Thank you, Chris, for these instructions. I skipped the step for multiple languages and installed via WineBottler instead so that I could have an all in one application bundle to give to those in my congregation that use Macs. I was able to install the updates from within the application bundle, just as you would from within WTlib on a PC. For those having difficulty applying the updates, I was using the Version 1.8.3 of the WineBottler app.

On Step 12, where do I find the ‘Watchtower’ file?

olubukola · October 30, 2017 at 2:35 PM

where does the Watchtower Library come from?

    Chris West · March 20, 2018 at 9:28 AM

I made it but now you can just follow the steps in the updated post.

pt · December 8, 2017 at 10:19 PM

same here update does not work!
stops at 90%
it might be better if it downloaded update
than you start wt lib invoke install manually and exit wt lib so it can complete update so next time you run it it would be updated.
there seems to be a glitch during installation where it should at one point exit wt lib program so update can be installed

looks like there is nobody that knows or cares.

Jodie Dickson · December 10, 2017 at 4:08 AM

Hi there – where can I download WatchTower I can’t find it anywhere. Thanks so much.

Ryan · December 17, 2017 at 10:16 PM

Please help!
Everything seems like it worked, but when i click on app it doesn’t do anything. Just a little dialog box icon, entitled “wine,” shows up in the dock that says “Program Error.”

Skip · December 18, 2017 at 5:07 PM

In step #12 it says “Download this file and double-click it in Finder to unzip it” I but cannot find where to download the file.

Robert · December 23, 2017 at 8:12 PM

Really appreciate all your hard work. However, I’m experiencing the same issue as some others. Upon adding the language English to the wtlibrary.exe file and trying to open I receive an error.

Steve · December 28, 2017 at 8:21 PM

Step 12 Says “Download this file and double-click it in Finder to unzip it.” What file? I don’t see a file called Can you please explain?

Robert · January 2, 2018 at 11:10 PM

Thanks for the tutorial. I really appreciate your hard work. However, I’m unable to get the library to work. I’ve tried this tutorial on two different Macs and so far it has failed when trying to open the program right after selecting the language to install. Any further assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Larissa · February 12, 2018 at 3:08 PM

Same thing here. I’ve tried installing it on 2 different computers. WT Library never opens, however I get a square black icon in my dock and when I click on it I can see the name of the app is Wine and though I see no window, it’s labeled “Program Error”.
Please help!! 🙁
